Primary Care & Behavioral Health Integration
Health Quality Partners supports its member health centers in providing behavioral health services by managing several projects and initiatives which advance integrated behavioral healthcare.
Primary care settings have become a gateway for many individuals with behavioral health and primary care needs.
To address these needs, many primary care practices are integrating behavioral health care services into their settings. Integrating care is vital to addressing all the healthcare needs of individuals with mental health and substance use problems.
The practice of integrating behavioral health and primary care services improves access to services to unserved and underserved populations, and clinical outcomes for both behavioral health and physical health issues – regardless of whether primary care services are integrated into behavioral health systems, or vice versa.
