About
The breast health diagnostics services fund covers diagnostic breast health services such as diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds, surgical consults and biopsies for low income, uninsured and underinsured women and men living in San Diego Imperial, and Riverside counties who do not qualify for the State’s Every Women Counts program.
HQP serves as the Third Party Administrator for authorizations and claims processing of breast health diagnostic services. Community health centers provide the following services and/or coordinate referrals to outside specialists when they are not offered in-house:
- Diagnostic mammograms
- Ultrasounds
- Surgical consults
- Biopsies
- MRIs
Uninsured and underinsured men and women who reside in San Diego, Imperial and Riverside Counties can receive services. Patients must be referred by a provider within a community health center or a provider participating in the Every Woman Counts program.
In fiscal year 16/17, 335 patients received 932 breast health diagnostic services.
